Two Hands Restaurant

It is well know that Aussies do brekkie best, and that holds true at Two Hands Restaurant. You might know of the small cafe by the same name near TriBeCa, but this is different. A true restaurant on Mott Street in LES with table, banquette and bar seating, Two Hands Restaurant is the grown-up version of the cafe. While I prefer the whimsey of the cafe, there is much more room in the restaurant with the same incredible menu

Dulce and I sat at the bar - I think this area has the best view. It had poor lighting for photos but did have the coolest arched iron display storage full of glassware and plants behind the bar. You also can look out over the tables and cool cage pendants. Australian design is always warm and bright, creating the perfect environment for your morning eggs and avo toast.

I searched high and low, and finally found the same tile that is on the wall behind the bar. It is called Native, which alludes to its tribal pattern, but I am amazed at how it has such a modern appearance in this context. The display case ain't cheap but gives the same appearance - could be worth the splurge in your dining area, if you are looking for a statement piece. For a touch of Sydney lifestyle, check-out the Etsy shop featuring a photography series of Bondi Beach and surround landscape. After being here in-person, I can say there is no beach more picturesque. A look at that turquoise water in the morning would but a pep in anyone's step.
